Anyone else catch the start of the new series on Amazon prime last Thursday?
Loved the first 2 series and not disappointed with how this first episode looked, fucking great TV. Naked blonde beauties...verywhere...shagging, loads of gratuitous violence, one mad bastard and (allegedly) relatively accurate to folklore/legend.
What's not to like?

Loving it..big fan.
Best thing on the box by a mile. Old Ragnar has to pop his clogs soon dont he..shame as he is an excellent character and I think responsible for the recent trend in beards, along with SOA of course...

Swiss, i think it's got a lot better in that respect. But to be honest I think that kind of drew me in to start, the fact it was low budget made it a bit more romantic in its efforts.
A friend just started watching the 2nd series on Saturday and I got a message only saying "fuck me they've upped the budget for Vikings a bit on this new one"
In a way I hope it doesnt go too "big production" I wouldnt want it to lose any of its charm.

You have to remember that its not a HBO/AMC production. Its a Irish/Canadian History Channel series.
Clubfoot is right, its the fact that its not over budgeted is part of its charm. It doesnt look Hollywood and it doesnt look cheap. At the end of the day it needs very little to tell the story other than a main cast and a bunch of Battle re enactors...
Fuck it,If I was living in Ireland Id join the shield wall for nothing, just to have a a laugh...

Rollo is the man Swiss. Dont get me wrong, Ragnar and especially his children did alright but Rollo went to France with his band, conquered Normandy and went of through the Med and in to the Middle East, in to Russia and Africa and then their descendants smashed the Saxons and took England.

As a kid I read The Prose Edda by Snorri Sturluson. And some of the Sagas. Even learn't a bit of Danish as I have Danish ancestors.
